Proxy Risks

Restore your security
If you use a proxy server to hide your IP,
then change it now to your real IP to restore your
security and to be more anonymous. What
happens when you use a proxy sever?
When you use a proxy server (say, anonymizing HTTP proxy), all
data sent to the service that is used (say, HTTP server in a
website) must pass through the proxy server, before being sent to the
service. Most of the time in unencrypted form. It is therefore
possible, for a malicious proxy server to record everything sent to the
proxy: This includes unencrypted logins and passwords. With this
information criminals can login to any of your financial accounts to steal
your money or whatever and know all about you. Never trust any proxy
server
By chaining proxies that do not reveal data about the original
requester, it is possible to obfuscate activities from the eyes of the
user's destination. Please, notice, it is only a possibility to obfuscate
your activities. However, more traces will be left on the intermediate
hops, which could be used or offered up to trace the user's activities. So
you are not really anonymous. If
the policies and administrators of these other proxies are unknown, you as
the
user may fall victim to a false sense of security, because those
details are out of sight and out of mind. You have no idea how your data
is routed to the destination. Even if you had any idea, then there is
nothing you can do, as you have no possibility to route data the way you
would like. So NEVER trust any proxy server. Even
if any is noted as trusted. We live in a religious world, and in a
religious world trust
is the mother of deceit. Understand that any proxy server is just one in
the chain through which your data passes.
Anonymity in exchange for security
Using proxy servers for anonymity means giving away your anonymity and
secrets and encrypted data. Once they got your login data, they login to
your accounts and
everything about you is revealed. So what anonymous surfing?
The bottom line of all this is to be extremely wary, when using any
proxy server, regardless of the proxy server its known integrity (e.g., the
owner is regarded as trusted, with a clear privacy policy, etc.). But the
owner of today, may not be the owner of tomorrow. Mind you that anyone
will tell you that he is trust worthy, as that is the only way to get you
as a believer.
Do you know the owner of the proxy server?
Do you know all the people who have access to the trusted proxy server?
What is the meaning of integrity in a religious world full of lies and
where lying is the norm and we all are brainwashed to believe all the
lies, as though they are truth?
You can only be fooled if you believe, not if you know. So know, don't
believe.
Do I need to tell you never to use proxy servers of unknown integrity?
How would you know which one is of unknown integrity?
Do you know which proxy of what integrity are in the chain?
If there is no choice but to use unknown proxy servers, do not pass any
private information (unless it is properly encrypted) through the proxy.
Will saying this help?
What will surely help you?
What will surely help you is never to use any proxy server. Never buy
any proxy software to hide your real IP. Most of the time it is nothing
more, than like you are walking behind someone else, so the people in front of
him won't see you. But all they have to do is look behind that person to
see you. On the internet it is just a matter of a small snippet of script
that is widely available. More forceful scripts gets your real IP
anyway.
BTW, are you aware of that those walking behind you see you?
Understand that no matter what proxy you use, the data has to travel
from your computer to the destination (like to a website) and back to you
(from the website back to your computer). The web site people may not be
interested in what your IP and other data is, but along the way there are
people, unknown to you, who are. Your computer is under constant attack on
the internet by more and more sophisticated software and devices.
They don't tell you about the risks involve when using anything to do
with proxy, just to sell you a piece of rubbish, you would never have
bought or pay for, if only you knew better.
You are here at the Escaper Zone, where you escape being fooled and
fooling any member.
Because of the problems with proxy IPs, I have decided not to use IPs
as a mean to block a user. I use other techniques, which are better, but
not 100%.
I hope that you are smart enough to join the Escaper Zone.
